Angela Collins for FBISD Board of Trustees, Position 3
Meet Angela Collins
Bringing Progress to Fort Bend Community

Angela Collins - I am dedicated to serving Fort Bend with integrity, transparency, and a commitment to excellence. My vision for the future of education is centered on empowering students, supporting teachers, and fostering a community-driven approach to school board decisions.
So many parents I speak with do not feel heard when dealing with their children's education, not only at a school level, but at a district level. I feel like the word transparency is thrown around too frequently in this world. My goal, if elected, is to truly work with the stakeholders on the issues at a local level. There is no reason we cannot work with the most important people in the district (children, parents, teachers, staff, and administrators) to come up with results.

Giving back to the community has always been one of my core values, and seeing the positive impact we've made together reaffirms the power of collective action. From children to adults, every individual played a vital role in making it possible.
This was a true testament to the strength, unity, and generosity of the community!

I am a Christian mother of three. My husband and I have been together almost 20 years. We are active members of our church, where I get to act like a barista. I am a volunteer in the youth programs as well. We have four beautiful grandchildren;
through the years I have taken in many kids. I have a strong Christian foundation within my home and have always served with a servant's heart. The kids are my driving force and everything I do is surrounded be the idea of teaching kids about kindness and to be good people.
I have a background in finance working in Oil & Gas for many years as well as contracts, writing policy and creating standard operating procedures.

As a parent in the district, I want what any other parent wants... I want to feel that my children will be safe when I send them to school. I do not want to question whether they are going to be bullied, if there will be a shooting, if they will not be set up for success in the classroom.
Far too frequently I speak to parents, and they feel lost, not knowing where to turn. I want to be that person for my fellow stakeholders.
